As we experience this First day of January 2026, I am looking forward to the winter season’s quietude and the need to focus inward.

 

As many already know and to those who have not yet heard, Studio D Yoga’s physical location is closing its doors.

 

I will be taking some much needed time to restore and rest and tend to my health needs.

 

As I have been sorting and moving material items, clearing out, the joys and memories of nearly 20 years has been overwhelming.
When I first committed to a small business plan, I had no idea how far and how rewarding sharing yoga in my own personal space would be.

 

So many  life experiences have been shared and created.  Love and joy, sadness and grief, hopes and dreams… all paths have  deeply enriched my life. It is because of each of you that we were successful. Your energy and beckoning light filled my heart, and in fact, filled the room when entered. Studio D was a collaboration of spirit and souls. A place of sharing and connection. I witnessed new friendships form and shared in the births of children and grandchildren. I held you through the losses and prayed for your family healing. In return you help me in the losses of both of my parents. Your growth in your practice and spiritual journey I embrace, knowing it was a true gift to witness and all that ever mattered. 

 

I have been so blessed to have had teaching at the studio many of the very best instructors in the Richmond/Midlothian areas. Many yoga teachers began at Studio D and to see everyone grow and expand their gifts brings such great joy and I wish everyone great success moving forward!

 

I am reminded of the joys of the holidays past, the many years of experiences, and I will be enjoying this time after the hustle and bustle to rest in reflection of the final days and months of 2025. What’s ahead is unknown, but I feel an inner excitement and sparks of curiosity.

Although no firm plans have been set, please know Debbie isn’t done yet! (privates, Zoom, and micro classes to come!)

 

I am excited for a new chapter and just like the energy and furniture I constantly move, I am ready to create and energetically shift my life.

May we each experience this new year “with ease” and continue to grow, expand, share.
Welcome the fire of the horse as we each walk into the new. (I already feel like I have been racing to get here!)
